"The T.L.E. I experienced as a child was characterized by
confusion and compounded by ignorance and minimization of the disease by those
around me. Later in my life the neurological tests done in order to obtain some
clarity yielded little useful information. (Neuropsychological testing has been
the exception.) Alcoholism also existed in my family adding other ingredients to
the pot. What is neurological and what is psychological? How do emotions and
disease interrelate? Can fear cause or predispose one to seizures or is the
anxiety mainly a symptom of the T.L.E.?"
